Objective: To equip participants with foundational knowledge and practical skills in AI, focusing on its application to global nutrition challenges.

Brief: This component comprises a series of interactive online sessions spanning three days, designed to immerse students in the field of AI and its potential for social good. Through engaging lectures by experts, hands-on workshops, and collaborative project development, participants will:

  1. Gain an understanding of AI concepts and technologies.
  2. Explore real-world case studies where AI has been applied to improve nutritional outcomes.
  3. Work in teams to devise innovative AI solutions aimed at addressing specific nutritional issues, guided by mentors from      the tech and nutrition sectors.

  • AI and Nutrition (30 minutes): Engaging stories showing how AI contributes to better nutritional outcomes globally.
  • Break and Interactive Q&A (30 minutes distributed): Short breaks with a fun, interactive Q&A to reinforce learning and encourage curiosity.
Day 2: AI Tools in Action (3 hours)
  • Exploring AI Tools (1 hour): A hands-on, guided activity using simple AI tools or simulations suitable for their technical skill level.
  • AI for Good (45 minutes): Discussion on ethical AI use and brainstorming how AI can help their community.
  • Group Brainstorm (45 minutes): Facilitated session to come up with ideas for using AI to solve a nutrition problem.

  • Project Showcase (45 minutes): Teams present their ideas, receiving constructive feedback.
  • Closing (30 minutes): Wrapping up with a motivational talk on continuing their AI journey beyond the camp.
